Cong Ivy Ran, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Cong Ivy Ran is a highly trained plastic surgeon specializing in facial aesthetics. Acknowledging that Western aesthetic standards may not always suit Asian patients, she is among the few plastic surgeons in Los Angeles, CA, offering customized procedures for patients of all backgrounds. Education and Training

Dr. Ran graduated magna cum laude with honors and research distinction from The Ohio State University, earning a degree in molecular genetics. She then pursued her medical degree and Ph.D. in genetics at Dartmouth College's Geisel School of Medicine. After her academic training, Dr. Ran completed her internship and residency in general surgery and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. She further specialized in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Corey S. Maas, president-elect of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), and Dr. David W. Kim.

Even after completing her formal education, Dr. Ran remains committed to staying current with the latest advancements and evidence-based practices in her field. She actively participates in clinical research and regularly presents at industry conferences.

Dr. Ran is highly experienced in head and neck procedures, including surgical facelifts, neck lifts, and brow lifts. She also specializes in blepharoplasty and is one of the few providers offering eyelid treatments specifically for Asian patients, addressing both aesthetic and vision concerns while maintaining the natural appearance of their eyes.

Dr. Maki is a cosmetic surgeon with an impressive list of academic and professional achievements. He has completed a five year residency through Michigan State University in Otolaryngology/Facial Plastic Surgery and furthered his training with a General Cosmetic Surgery fellowship through Vincent Surgical Arts, a fellowship accredited through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Maki is certified by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He obtained his medical degree from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Missouri and finished at the top of his class. During his 4th year of medical school, he was privileged enough to rotate with many of the best facial plastic surgeons in the world.

After completing a One year General Surgery internship, Dr. Maki further pursued his interests in Head and Neck Surgery/Facial Plastic Surgery through Michigan State University, one of the top programs in ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery. He was privileged enough to work with Dr. Ted Golden, a graduate of the world famous Eugene Tardy, and one of the most distinguished rhinoplasty surgeons in the world. He then completed a fellowship in General Cosmetic Surgery under the guidance of the distinguished Dr. Drake Vincent, founder of the Swift Lift face lift in Salt Lake City, UT.
