Ultherapy
Patients can expect to see a tightening effect immediately following their treatment.
However, the real and significant results appear over the next 2-3 months as new collagen is produced and gradually lifts and tightens skin on the treated area. While Ultherapy does not provide results as drastic as a facelift, it is a proven non-invasive alternative for patients who don’t want the associated downtime, trauma and cost of surgery. Ultherapy can also be an option for patients who want to extend the effects of their cosmetic surgery.

What does collagen do for the face?
Collagen is a naturally occurring protein that gives skin its appearance of youth. By keeping the skin firm, toned and elastic, collagen aids in maintaining a young and rejuvenated appearance.
During the aging process, collagen loses its elasticity and ability to fight the effects of gravity, which pulls the skin downward. Ultherapy is a jump start to the repair process that produces new, healthy collagen.
Is there any downtime?
Ultherapy is a completely non-invasive procedure and therefore, patients can expect no associated downtime.
Ultherapy patients are able to return to normal activities right away, and there are no special measures or precautions needed following a treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Most ultherapy patients only need one treatment; however, depending on the desired result, some may benefit from more than one treatment.
The decision on treatment number depends on how much laxity there is in the skin and the body’s own biological response to the ultrasound and collagen-building process. These treatment options are something you can discuss with your provider.

Laser treatments typically address issues in the top and superficial layers of the skin (fine lines, wrinkles, pigment changes).
Ultherapy is unique in that it addresses the signs of aging at the foundational layer of the skin, the same layer addressed in cosmetic surgery that lifts and lend support to the skin. Therefore, the two technologies are considered complementary.
What is unique about this procedure?
Ultherapy is the only non-invasive, FDA approved treatment that specifically targets the foundation below the skin that is also addressed in cosmetic surgery - without the need for cutting or disrupting the top layer of skin.
Additionally, it’s the only procedure that utilizes ultrasound imaging, allowing your provider to see the layers of tissue being targeted during the treatment and ensure that the energy is directed exactly where it will deliver the best result.
Are there any side effects?
Patients can expect slight redness in the treated area for up to an hour following the treatment, and a small fraction of patients have reported mild swelling, tingling or tenderness.
These potential side effects are mild and temporary in nature, and there are no special precautions or restrictions on activity that need to be made following the treatment.
