Who is an ideal candidate?

Laser Genesis is ideal for patients who are frustrated with premature signs of aging. Being such a versatile treatment, Genesis is able to address multiple signs of aging at once while being non-ablative and requiring no downtime.

The treatment can be performed on the face, neck or body as needed, and is perfect for those with uneven tone or texture, sun damage, acne, scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. Multiple treatments are recommended to see optimum results from laser genesis. Patients can return to work or school immediately and there are no restrictions following the procedure.

What areas can be treated?

Laser genesis is most commonly performed on the face to treat common skin issues such as lines and wrinkles, large pore size, uneven tone, redness and acne scarring.

Many of our patients also get treatments on the neck and décolleté, as those areas tend to age faster and can benefit greatly from the upcycle of collagen the laser creates. Other patients use laser genesis treatments to target areas of specific concern, including post surgery scars and stretch marks. Laser genesis is ideal for those preparing for a big event, as the treatment enhances the health of the skin and leaves patients glowing when they leave the office!

What does the treatment feel like?

Believe it or not, our patients often describe laser genesis as relaxing. The sensation is similar to being under direct hot sunlight.

The surface of the skin warms to a comfortable level as the provider moves the handpiece back and forth across the areas being treated. The handpiece is kept about a half inch away from the skin, and the movements are quick to distribute the heat evenly. If at any point the patient feels like the heat becomes too intense, the provider can adjust the laser to more comfortable and pleasant settings.

What is diffuse redness?

Diffuse redness is a skin condition that causes a general red tone across different areas of the face and commonly affects individuals with fair skin.

As with rosacea, diffuse redness is a result of dilated blood capillaries in the face caused by aging, genetics, sun exposure or drastic changes in climate. Laser Genesis is an extremely effective treatment for diffuse redness as it works to promote a healthier overall complexion and strengthen thinning skin with a boost of collagen.

What to expect after treatment?

Patients may be mildly red for up to an hour post treatment, but there is no associated downtime or side effects documented with the treatment.
