Which is a better option for me: Liposuction versus Sculpsure?

by Dr. Ahmed Maki on Nov 15th, 2017

Liposuction is an excellent option for many patients with difficult body areas to tone or sculpt. It is designed to help slim and shape areas of the body by removing fat deposits and improving the natural curvature of the body. There are various techniques including laser assisted liposuction, power liposuction and manual liposuction. All techniques have the common goal of permanent removal of fatty cells from the body. This is different from dieting which helps in shrinking fat cells. Liposuction is a nice option for those patients seeking significant fat removal or more dramatic changes.

Sculpsure, on the other hand, is a 25 minute procedure which is best at targeting problem areas of the body which are unamenable to dieting or exercise. Sculpsure is the first FDA cleared laser treatment for non invasive lipolysis. A session lasts 25 minutes and usually will need to be performed twice to achieve ideal results. After your session, the body naturally eliminates the disrupted fat cells resulting in an improved toned appearance which will best be seen 6-12 weeks after your session. This option is best for those patients seeking quick recovery, with no downtime. Limitations though are that it is not as able to address as much fat removal as liposuction.
